A five-year study that examined community re-integration of women who had been incarcerated, by employing qualitative and quantitative research methods. The federally sentenced women who were part of the study had been incarcerated in one of Canada’s federal prisons for women, Grand Valley Institution, located in Kitchener, Ontario. This project aimed to find ways in which women can be supported in their return to the community after incarceration.
A project that aimed to understand and support Indigenous women’s healing through arts-based research with Minwaashin Lodge, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The project involved Indigenous women engaging in an artistic process called body-mapping. Through the women’s stories, we raised awareness around the issue of violence against Indigenous women, and celebrated their resilience and strength.
